The City of Oakland’s Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD) works to ensure that all communities in Oakland are healthy, strong, and thriving. This project was formerly known as 222 19th Street Development Project. The project proposed the demolition of the existing garden associated with the historic August Schilling estate and construction of a 42-story residential high-rise (457’-9” to the top of the pyramidal roof form) containing 370 for-sale units, a 933 sq. ft. of ground floor café, and 357 parking spaces in five levels of underground parking.

The Highway Safety Improvement Program, Cycle 9, will install pedestrian safety improvements to the Foothill Boulevard Corridor
The project installs pedestrian crossing safety improvements to three intersections on Foothill Blvd in Oakland.
In 2009, the US EPA awarded the City of Oakland a $200,000 “site-specific” brownfield assessment grant for use at an assemblage of eleven contiguous parcels located at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Seminary Avenue.

A protected bike lane and pedestrian safety project on Fruitvale Avenue between E12th St and Alameda Ave
The Fruitvale Avenue Project installed bike and pedestrian safety improvements to the Fruitvale Corridor between E 12th Street and E 22nd Street. OakDOT is currently working to restore on-street parking along Fruitvale Avenue.
This project runs from Alameda Ave at the Miller Sweeney Bridge to Park Blvd at the Leimert Bridge, connecting the City of Alameda to the Fruitvale BART Station, and the Fruitvale and Dimond Districts. The section between Alameda Ave and E 7th St forms part of the spine of the on-street Bay Trail.
The proposed project includes the demolition of the existing site improvements and the construction of a four-story condominium/apartment building with 275 units to be built around interior courtyards and a five-story (six-level) parking garage.
Bridge Development Partners has submitted a proposal to demolish the existing contaminated buildings, remediate the site, and construct a warehouse on the site previously owned by General Electric.
