Assembly Bill 43, Friedman: Traffic Safety (AB 43) was signed into law in late 2021 by California’s Governor. Under AB 43, local governments may, by ordinance, set a prima facie speed limit of 20 mph or 25 mph on streets contiguous to a “business activity district” (a new designation authorized by AB 43).
The MacArthur Transit Village is a mixed-use, multi-phased transit-oriented development located at the MacArthur BART Station. The village offers 880 new residential units, 143 at below market rent, and a new parking garage with 478 spaces for BART patrons and guests. The project will also contain nearly 40,000 square feet of new commercial/retail space (project case file #PUD06058).

Work is adjacent to the Highway 13 northbound lane between located between the I-580 Freeway and the Carson Street exit. Access to the easement will require heavy equipment to access the easement via Highway 13. Construction may directly affect the lane of travel closest to the shoulder (right-hand northbound lane) between the hours of 9am - 3pm, Monday through Friday, between October 21, 2019 and late December 2019.

Repaving and refreshed bike connection coming to Flora Street between Havenscourt Boulevard and 69th Avenue
Thank you for your participation in the Ney Avenue Neighborhood Traffic Calming Plan! Detailed design for traffic calming elements is now underway.
Speed humps have been constructed on Ney, Outlook, and Hillmont. Our detailed design for traffic calming improvements has been delayed but continues to move forward with construction anticipated in Spring 2024.
The Project is a Master Planned community on the former Oak Knoll Naval Medical Center (PLN15378), which is approximately 191 acres conisting of 918 residences, 72,000 sq ft of neighborhood commercial, 14,000 sq ft of civic/commercial use, open space, creek restorations, and trails.
