OPD Officers prevent suicide

On February 15, 2021, at about 5:19 PM, a person called the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Communication Division to report a person sitting on the ledge of a 10-story parking garage rocking back and forth. Upon arrival, officers found an individual with half their body hanging over the ledge of the structure in 200 block of 23rd Street.

vaccination

Fremont High School will host a vaccination site from Thursday, February 18 to Saturday, February 20, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The site is intended to serve our communities that have been hardest hit by COVID and its impacts, including individuals from ZIP codes 94601, 94603, 94606, 94607 and 94621. Eligible individuals who live in those ZIP codes AND are work in one of the eligible tiers have the opportunity to get vaccinated.

10th and MLK 2 15 2021

On February 15th, 2021, at approx. 6:04 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 600 block of 10th Street on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male Oakland resident suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

On February 14th, 2021, at about 7 PM, the Oakland Police Department received a report of a deceased male inside a tent at Mosswood Park. Oakland PD Officers located the male and found him deceased with traumatic injuries.
