The Anti-Discrimination Policy Ad Hoc Committee was established to bring to the Commission to adopt a revised and enhanced internal Oakland Police Department (OPD) Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policy that will contain guidelines and expectations related to all Department members.

As of February 1, 2012, the City of Oakland Redevelopment Agency ceased to exist. The new Redevelopment Successor Agency, housed within the Public/Private Development Division, was created to wind down and complete the activities of the former Redevelopment Agency.

Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center

Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center (meaning Old Creek in Spanish) is located at one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the city. Our park features a lively creek, picnic areas, and a community garden. We are located next to East Oakland Pride Elementary School. Our center is equipped with a football/soccer field, tennis courts, play area for toddlers, patio area, social hall, craft and game room, computer lab, and newly renovated baseball field. We have bilingual staff members to help our Spanish-speaking community members. We are an ADA Inclusion Center.

Arts and Culture in Oakland

Learn about the City’s Cultural Funding Program, which provides approximately $1 million annually in grants to support the arts; the Public Art Program, which commissions and supports public art across Oakland; professional development programs for artists and arts organizations; and volunteer advisory bodies of the City.
