Garrett Micheels joined the Public Ethics Commission (PEC) in May 2023. Prior to the PEC, Mr. Micheels began his career as an intern with the Enforcement Division of the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and was later hired as a Special Investigator with the FPPC Enforcement Division. As a Special Investigator, he led investigations which related to possible violations of the Political Reform Act, including campaign finance laws, lobbying activity, conflicts of interest, laundered campaign contributions and over-the-limit gifts.
Mr. Micheels holds a B.A. in the Administration of Justice from the University of Hawai`i at Hilo.
