Laura Kaminski

Laura Kaminski, AICP, is the Acting Strategic Planning Manager for the City of Oakland, California. She has been a planner for 22 years and has worked for Oakland for 14 years. She holds a Masters in Urban Planning as well as a Bachelor’s in Architectural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, School of Architecture and Urban Planning.

She is the Project Manager for the City’s Impact Fees. After working on adoption of Oakland’s Broadway Valdez District Specific Plan, she is now managing implementation of the Plan to bring destination retail and a mixed-use neighborhood to Oakland. She also worked on rewriting Oakland’s Commercial and Residential Zoning Codes, along with rezoning over 100,000 parcels.
