Redeem your Pet

If you do find that your pet is located at Oakland Animal Services (OAS), there are a few things you will need to do.

How to redeem your pet at OAS

  1. Go to the shelter where your pet is located, 1101 29th Ave

    Oakland, or call 510-535-5602

  2. Bring proof of ownership. Examples of this can include: vet records, adoption records, photos of you and the pet.

  3. You must have a valid photo identification: a driver’s license or passport are acceptable.

    You must be 18 yrs old or older to redeem your pet.

  4. Fees may apply. Bring payment for fees relating to your pet being impounded. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). The check writer/credit card holder must be present with valid ID.
