Plan Check for new dwellings usually takes four to six weeks. However, plans with special engineering may take longer. You can decrease Plan Check time if you submit an overtime request along with relevant fees (see request form below).
When you apply for your permit(s), Zoning staff will review the plans submitted to ensure that all conditions of approval are satisfied and that the plans are consistent with Zoning regulations. Building Plan Check staff will review plans for conformance with all relevant Building Codes and regulations.
If we return your plans to you because we need you to make more changes, the Plan Check process will take longer. Please contact us if you have Plan Check questions.
