The Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) currently provides subsidized housing to nearly 16,500 families. The largest landlord in Oakland, OHA serves a diverse community in neighborhoods throughout the city. The Oakland Housing Authority administers the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 program in Oakland. They also own and oversee the management of hundreds of units of legacy public housing and continue to develop new affordable housing.
Although the City of Oakland and the Oakland Housing Authority are trusted partners on many projects, they are entirely separate agencies.
