Update: Possible Kidnapping
Thank you to our community members and media partners for supporting the Oakland Police Department (OPD) in the report of a possible kidnapping case.
With your help, OPD investigators were able to locate the vehicle of interest, which was reported stolen.
After a thorough search, investigators determined that no kidnapping occurred.
An individual was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.

The Oakland Police Department is requesting assistance from our community and media partners in locating a possible kidnapped individual.
On May 16, 2023, just before 2:00 PM, a community member reported witnessing a possible kidnapping from the 10200 block of E Street. The community member observed two males force a female into a Chevy Pickup Truck, with CA license plate 8Y51451.
One of the males is described to be in his 30’s, Black, 5’5”, with dreadlocks, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second male is described as White, 5’10”, wearing a red mask and white shirt. The only description of the female is that she has black hair.
