Ceasefire Case Leads to the Recovery of Firearms and Two Arrests
A person is in custody after officers from the Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested the individual in connection to a shooting earlier this year.
Officers assigned to OPD’s Ceasefire Division served search warrants at two locations associated with the individual on April 3, 2023.
During the search, officers seized 9 firearms including semi-automatic guns, assault rifles, and multiple high-capacity ammunition magazines.
Officers also recovered suspected cocaine, several pounds of suspected marijuana, cash, as well evidence linked to the February shooting.
A second individual was arrested for weapons violations.
Both individuals were taken into custody safely with the assistance of officers assigned to the Violent Crime Operations Center (VCOC).

To date, OPD has recovered more than 250 firearms.
