On January 15, 2021, at approximately 11:40 AM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 2500 blk of 98th Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting. Officers also contacted a male adult at the Eastmont Substation suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).
Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were additionally on the scene and provided medical treatment. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide.
