On January 11, 2021, at approximately 2:56 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Market Street to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers were advised of an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
