The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on June 16th, 2021, just after 11 PM, in the 1200 block of Peralta Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of gunshots followed by a vehicle collision. Once on scene, officers located an adult male, El Cerrito resident, in a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.
Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew additionally responded to the scene to provide medical treatment. The victim was transported to an area hospital where unfortunately he died.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
