On February 13, 2021, around 3:47 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 10000 block of MacArthur Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim (non-Oakland resident) suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers on the scene attempted life-saving measures. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance arrived at the scene to provided additional medical attention. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical attention.
A felony assault callout was initiated to conduct the follow-up investigation.
On February 24, 2021, the victim succumbed to his injuries while in the hospital.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.
