The City of Oakland is supporting warming center operations at St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Community Center and Shelter between Friday, December 31 and Monday, January 3. This activation is in response to the prolonged cold weather and near freezing temperatures anticipated for this weekend, which will put the city’s most vulnerable populations at risk.
With the addition of over 10 designated City staff volunteers, the facility will be able to open a second room from Friday through Monday morning, allowing for an additional 45 beds per night at the shelter.
