On December 2, 2020, at approximately 2:49 PM, the Oakland Police Department’s Communications Division received a ShotSpotter Activation in the 7600 block of International Boulevard. The Communications Division also received a call reporting a shooting at the location. Units arrived on the scene and located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew also responded to the scene. Unfortunately, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
