On October 30th, 2020, at approx. 8:30 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of 89th Avenue on a report of a ShotSpotter. Responding officers located an adult male Oakland resident suffering from gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. While investigators were on scene the suspect returned to the area and was taken into custody.
