Oakland – Mayor Libby Schaaf joined representatives from the Oakland Zoo and other dignitaries for a ribbon cutting celebration, opening the new California Trail to the public.

The California Trail is a transformational project that will further the Zoo’s commitment to animal care, education, and conservation, California Trail provides a chance to interpret one of the great stories of change in California and emphasizes the role of humans in shaping the ecology of the San Francisco Bay Area.
