Oakland, CA — This afternoon, the City received notice that the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW, Local 1245) and the Confidential
Management Employees Association (CMEA) have ratified their tentative
agreements with the City.
Both groups agreed to the same wage proposal as the City offered to SEIU, Local
1021 in its Last, Best, and Final Offer, and to IFPTE, Local 21—up to 6% over the
two-year contract, as follows:
4% effective July 1, 2017
1% effective January 2019
Up to 1% more in the second year of the two-year contract, depending
on City revenues, effective January 2019
The tentative agreements will be presented to the City Council for final
ratification as early as next week.
With respect to the other bargaining units, the City and SEIU, Local 1021 will
attend a half-day mediation on Monday, December 18 in an attempt to resolve
outstanding issues. Negotiations continue between IFTPE, Local 21 and the
International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF, Local 55).
