We are looking for small, emerging organizations led by people who identify as and are connected to the communities most impacted by homelessness. The program will support organizations looking to strengthen their capacity to serve the community in areas such as street outreach, homelessness prevention, shelter, and supporting co-governed encampments. Approximately 70% of people experiencing homelessness in Oakland are African-American. This same percentage is not reflected in the leadership providing services to this community. Therefore, special emphasis will be given to African-American led organizations. There will be microgrants of up to $10,000 for select organizations.
