Town nights is kicking off a series of events as a tribute to Juneteenth through a night of Liberation Hip Hop. Featuring two professionally curated and hosted battles with Unlearn the World for the MC battle, and Turf Inc. for the turf dance battle. We will also give tribute to the origins of Hip Hop with the Bobby Young Project Blues Band.
Come and celebrate this Friday from 5 PM - 9 PM at Josie De La Cruz Park. This event will feature FREE food, live entertainment, prizes, a kids' zone, and more! The event is every Friday from June 16th - July 21st.
Themes - a carnival style Family Fun Day, a night of Community Healing, No Bans on Stolen Land, Multi - Culti Night, and closing out with another carnival Family Fun Day. We'll have live music, local performers, giveaways, community resources, free food, and our lovely Oakland community.
Deeply Rooted Collaborative will set up a booth at the event to connect with people to the Environmental Justice and Safety elements (chapters) from the Oakland General Plan 2045.
