Submit Initial Affidavit of Compliance - Mandatory Soft Story Retrofit

Buildings that are not exempt from the Mandatory Soft Story Retrofit Program require mandatory evaluation from an engineering professional to comply with Step 3 of the Mandatory Soft Story Retrofit Program per Oakland Municipal Code (OMC) Chapter 15.27.

How to Apply

  1. Step One: Complete the Form

    Fill out and sign the following webform to submit your Initial Affidavit of Compliance*.
    *NOTE:     A Seismic Evaluation and Schematic Retrofit Report must be completed by a licensed engineer before submitting the Initial Affidavit of Compliance.

  2. Step Two: Apply for Building Permit

    Apply for a Building Permit for your project prior to your compliance deadline.
