Every two years there is an application process, known as the Request For Proposal (RFP). Upon release of the RFP, your organization will submit an application to CDBG outlining your objectives for the proposed fiscal years.
Each CDBG funded activity must meet one of three broad national objectives:
- Benefit to low- and moderate-income persons.
- Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight.
- Designed to meet community development needs having a particular urgency.
At least 70% of the grantee’s funds must be used for activities that benefit low- and moderate-income persons; while individual activities must benefit at least 51% low- and moderate-income persons.
