The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on June 14th, 2021, around 4:15 AM, in the 1800 block of East 12th Street. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a vehicle collision. Once on scene, officers located an unresponsive male, non-Oakland resident.
Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew additionally responded to the scene to provide medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. It was later discovered; the victim had suffered a gunshot wound(s).
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
