The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on July 24, 2021, just before 9:30 AM, in the 1600 block of 23rd Avenue. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting victim. Once on scene, officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wound(s).
Oakland Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim died at the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
